The Yellow Springs
Senior Center (YSSC) Board of Trustees has named Amy Crawford of
Yellow Springs, as the Interim Executive Director for the
organization. David Scott, who held the position for two years,
recently retired to spend ‘treasured time’ with his
95-year old mother.
“I am pleased that
Amy Crawford has agreed to be our Interim Director,” stated Board
President Robert (Bob) Huston. “Her years of experience with our
center, as well as being the coordinator of our Home Assistance
Service Program, make her a good choice to head our organization
through this period of transition.”
“Amy is highly
respected in the Miami Township philanthropic senior community,”
added former Director David Scott. The Board is confident that she
will not only lead the Center through this transition but will help
define the next level of the organization’s Strategic Planning.
“I am committed to
this community and that’s why I’m here,” said Crawford. “I
believe that serving the elders of Yellow Springs and Miami Township
while providing stability for the organization is important. I’m
honored to lend a hand as we determine how best to approach this new
era of leadership at YSSC.”
While serving as the
coordinator in the Home Assistance Program at YSSC, Crawford works in
close collaboration with the Friends Care Community and Greene County
Council on Aging. In addition, she is an Adjunct Faculty Instructor
at Antioch University Midwest, where she teaches an Interpersonal
Communications course in the Healthcare Consumer Advocacy
Professional Certificate Program.
Crawford and Scott
will work closely together to make the transition seamless for the
staff and members of the Center. During David Scott’s leadership at
YSSC, activities and programs increased and the Center made
significant progress in developing plans for a new facility. Amy
Crawford is committed to this continued growth.
