Enjoy Baking? YSSC Needs You!

The Senior Center traditionally holds a bake sale in conjunction with Yellow Springs Street Fair, and a number of our regular bakers are no longer practicing their craft.

We need more baked goods for the upcoming Street Fair the second Saturday in June, and if you would like to donate your skill, contact our front desk at 767-5751. Your efforts will be much appreciated!

ANOTHER Scam Alert

As the new Health Care reform information begins to come out, the scammers are ready to take advantage of vulnerable seniors again. Please be advised that we are already seeing agents trying to sell policies that cover the gaps in the “Obama Care” or allow you to get coverage before things change, etc. If you or someone you know are approached by anyone concerning this type of insurance, please call the Council on Aging, the Better Business Bureau or the Ohio Department of Insurance before you sign anything or give anyone your information. There is no plan that is called “Obama Care” and PLEASE do not be fooled by these scams. If it sounds too good to be true it usually is. We will be glad to do the research for you and make sure any plan is legitimate.

Please don’t hesitate to contact the Council if you have any questions or comments.

The more we know ~ the better we can prepare!

Thank you ~ Your Council on Aging
